The foundation level for tennis originally starts at primary school coaching, another pathway for foundation tennis is SASP. This is when a company come into schools to teach the basic skills. This allows them to gain the basic skills of tennis at the easiest, lowest level.
Foundation Tennis is designed to introduce players to the fundamentals of tennis, including stroke technique, serving, court awareness and rallying. Activities are delivered in a low pressure, yet energetic environment, ensuring optimal learning, all the while maintaining the enjoyment factor of being on the tennis court.
Tennis Foundation Level This level of participation begins with early development of important fundamental skills, primarily; co-ordination, balance and agility.
It is a grassroots level and in many sports it is open to any one of any age and ability. At the foundation stage in the tennis continuum, there are many ways in which participants can pick up the sport and begin to get involved. One major organisation in tennis that helps support all levels, including the foundation level, would be the LTA.
